Skincare aligned with Moon phases🌙

how I tend to my glow, one moon at a time

My skin listens to the moon.

Each phase brings a shift, not just in the sky, but in how I care for myself. I like to think of skincare as a slow ritual, a love letter, a lunar dance between hands and heart. This is how I follow the moon, not just in thought, but in texture, scent, and softness.

🌑 New Moon — the Ritual of Renewal

When the moon disappears, I quiet everything. No actives, no brighteners. Just softness.

I cleanse with warm water and let my skin breathe. Sometimes I use Beauty of Joseon’s Green Plum Cleanser or a healing cream with centella asiatica.

Recommended ritual:

☾ Gentle foaming or cream cleanser

☾ Fragrance-free moisturiser (try La Roche-Posay Cicaplast)

☾Herbal tea or water, sipped slowly

🌒 Waxing Moon — the Ritual of Nourishment

The moon is growing – and so am I. I layer hydration slowly and intentionally.

I use Propolis + Niacinamide Serum for radiance, and lock it in with Dynasty Cream, both by Beauty of Joseon, just for glow and softness it gives.

“I build my glow like a garden—petal by petal, phase by phase.”

Recommended ritual:

☾ Hydrating toners (try Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner)

☾ Glow serums (like Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum)

☾ Creams that make you feel good and comforted.

🌕 Full Moon — the Ritual of Illumination

My skin feels most alive here. There’s a shine. I light a candle, take my time.

Gua sha, soft oils, and reflective skin masks. I bless my skin with golden light and intention. I sometimes journal during masking — or sit in complete stillness.

“Tonight, I am a moon in bloom.”

Recommended ritual:

☾ Nourishing face oil (like Rosehip or Jojoba)

☾ Sheet mask or sleep mask (try Laneige Water Sleeping Mask)

☾ Facial massage or gua sha with calming music

🌘 Waning Moon — the Ritual of Soft Release

Here, I let go. I relax. I exhale.

My skin craves calm, so I use hypochlorous spray and evening primrose oil, both on my face and in my tea. I return to gentle textures and small quiet rituals.

“Even fading light can be sacred.”

Recommended ritual:

☾ Milky cleanser (try CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser)

☾ Barrier-support serums or moisturisers

☾ Herbal compress or floral steam

Skincare isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. The moon doesn’t apologise for changing shape. Neither should we.

Each ritual is a reminder that glow doesn’t come from rushing. It comes from rhythm, from care, and from choosing yourself again and again.

I hope you find your own little lunar rhythm. I hope your skin feels like home.

With petals, cleansers, and a soft hand over your heart,
TJ ✩
